Run Killarney is an exciting new festival of running with 3 great races on the same day to suit all levels of fitness.

Run Killarney gives competitors the chance to run one of the world's most breath taking and scenic routes through Muckross House and Killarney National Park
The races are open to everyone, men and women alike, at all levels of running experience, walkers, newcomers and people who just want a challenge and a great day out.
This is a professionally run event and every effort has been made to ensure that all competitors needs are looked after.

Our on line registration system is 100% safe and secure. It accepts all major credit cards but does not accept debit cards. If you wish to pay by debit card you can also register on line via the run Ireland web site here

All 3 race distances are officially measured using a Jones counter and have an athletics Ireland race permit.
The challenging course is varied in its gradients but extremely rewarding.
Killarney Half Marathon & Maxi Marathon
We have changed the route slightly for the 2012 races. The race will start at Molls Gap on the Killarney to Kenmare Road and continue along the spectacular ring of Kerry road the N71.
The last 3 miles will follow Dinis cottage route around the Lakes of Killarney finishing in the grounds of the world famous Muckross House.
Killarney 10k
This new route will start in front of Muckross House in Killarney National Park. The route will take you through the national park hugging the crystal clear waters of the Lakes of Killarney and around Dinis cottage to finish back in the grounds of Killarney National Park.
There will be cash prizes in the following categories both male and female for each of the 3 races:
The winners of the senior men's and women category will receive the perpetual Hugh O'Flaherty trophy.
We will also have some spot prizes which will be announced closer to the race date.
Competitors will arrive at Muckross House Killarney between 6.00am and 6.45am to be transported by coach to the start line.
There is ample car parking at Muckross house for all competitors.
Competitors will arrive ready to race with your timing chip and race number attached.
Killarney 10k: The morning of the raceCompetitors will arrive at Muckross House Killarney between 7.30am and 8.00am. You can walk from the car park and assemble in front of Muckross House for the Start of the Race.
There is ample car parking at Muckross house for all competitors.
Competitors will arrive ready to race with your timing chip and race number attached.
BagsCompetitors will be permitted to bring one bag (no plastic bags) with them on the bus. The bags will then be transported from the start line and will be available for collection at the finish line.
Road closure detailsThe road will be closed to all vehicles along the route and will be reopened at 11.30am.

The race will finish in the grounds of Muckross house and gardens.
At the finish line competitors will receive their medal and t-shirt. There will be massage facilities and hot and cold tubs & showers.
Bag collectionCompetitors can collect their bags from the bag tent when they present their race bib number which will correspond with their bag number.
Race after partyThere will be an official after party in a selected venue in Killarney after the race where all competitors will receive a free BBQ. Details will be announced closer to the race day.
Car parkingCompetitors can collect their cars in the car park in Muckross house.

Where does race start?The Killarney Half Marathon & the Maxi Marathon starts at Molls Gap Molls gap on the N71 Kanmare to Killarney Road.

Where does race finish?The race finishes at Muckross House Killarney.
How do I get to the race start line?If you are competing in the Killarney Half Marathon & the Maxi Marathon you will be transported from Muckross House to the start line in a bus. The bus Journey is approximately 35mins long.
If you are competing in the Killarney 10K you can walk from Muckross House car park to the front of Muckross House in 5 Minutes.
What time do I get the bus to the start line?All competitors must be at Muckross House between 6.00 and 6.45am to board a bus to the start line. The last bus leaves at 7:00am
Where do I get the bus to the start line?All competitors must get board the buses at Muckross House. There will be ample parking at Muckross House to park your car
I don’t have any transport to get me to Muckross house?If you do not have transport to Muckross House on the morning of the race there is a shuttle bus from the Ross Hotel at 6.00am. You must contact us to avail of this service as there is limited capacity.
How do I get my race pack?You will receive your race pack in the post one week before the race
What is included in the race pack?Race number, safety pins, timing chip, route map, race information, bag number sticker, after party BBQ voucher.
What happens if I don’t receive the race pack?If you have not received your race pack in the post by the 14th of July please contact Oliver on 087-9877880
I am an international competitor, where do I pick up my race pack?International competitors will pick up the race packs on Friday the 15th July at the race information centre in the Ross Hotel in Killarney Town.
What do I do with my timing chip?All competitors will arrive on the morning of the race ready to go for the race.Your race timing chip should be attached to your shoe laces.
Is it possible to register on the day of the race?No. There is no registration on the day of the race.
Can I bring a bag to the start line?Yes you can bring a bag to the start line. In your race pack you will be given a sticker to attach to your bag. The sticker corresponds to your race number. You leave your bag in the designated bus on the start line and you can pick up your bag at the finish line using your race number.
What facilities are at the start line?Ample toilet facilities, water and bag drop off
Are their changing rooms or shower facilities at the finish line?There are no changing facilities and there will be limited shower facilities
Is their parking at the finish line?Yes. There is ample parking at the finish line

Are i-pod's or other MP3 players allowed on the race dayNo. The amazing scenery of the route should keep you entertained
When will I find out my finishing time?If you provided us with a mobile phone number on your registration form you will receive a text after the race with your official race time. A full list of race times will be put up on www.maximarathonkillarney.com after the race.
How many competitors are taking part in the race?Approximately we will have 1000 competitors running and walking in the race.
Can walkers do the race?Yes walkers are very welcome. A large number of walkers participated in last year’s Maxi Marathon.
The race will be conducted in accordance with the rules set out by Athletics Ireland.
Competitors must be over 18 on the day of the race to enter.
No dogs/pets, cycles, roller blades, prams/ buggies, skate-boards or non-registered persons will be allowed to accompany participants in the race
There will be ample toilet facilities at the start line, the finish line, and along the route.
Water stationsWater stops are at mile 3, 6, 9 and 12 and the finish line.
First aid & health and SafetyThere will be 3 ambulances placed along the route with radio contact with race Stewards.
There will be basic first aid at all water stations.
